The first African wildlife
|
Our first night is at Riley's Hotel. Riley's has certainly seen better days. While not quite out of the Heart of Darkness it exudes a run-down seediness and cats. Capricorn Safaris, the local operator to whose care Wilderness Travel had consigned us, is working to bring a newer "jumping off" hotel on-line but its completion seems to be scheduled on "African Time" which implies great impreciseness as to deadlines or targets.
To get acclimated to larger game we decided to walk through the Maun Game Reserve across the Thamalakane River from Riley's. |
