June 27, 2004: Maun, Botswana
Our next stage was Frankfurt to Maun in Botswana where we would spend a night before leaving on safari. Wilderness Travel, the organizer of our trip, is usually very accurate and so we had great expectations for Riley's Hotel. Maun is dominated by the travel industry - all types of safaris to the Okavango Delta, the Kalahari, the game reserves and the salt pans. Someone is ready to take you or provide the equipment for you to take yourself. It has a frontier atmosphere or at least the residue of one.
