Michael and I visited Volterra, another old walled city on a hilltop, on our drive back to Milan. As we passed Pisa in the rain I was able to pick out the Leaning Tower and we saw a bit of the Mediterranean as we drove up the coast to Genoa. This route has an amazing number of tunnels.
