Miky led us on a walking
tour of Città Bassa—Low city—Modern Bergamo
(mostly late 19th century) in the morning. This included stops
for pastries so there was no chance of hunger setting in. In
the afternoon we drove to Città
Alta—Upper city—Ancient Bergamo. The development
of this walled city took place over many centuries and was probably
first begun in Etruscan times. In addition to the renovation
of the buildings and the creation of many shops and restaurants
there are many very large, beautiful villas on the outskirts
of the old city. Michael decided he wanted to specialize in photos
of scooters as there are so many of them in Italy. He continues
this theme throughout the trip. This was another wonderful day
but our feet were very tired at the end. Thank you again for
a second great day in Bergamo! |
