| Today Kate and Sandy went
to San Gimignano while the rest of us went in two vans with hired
drivers to the Montalcino area where Brunello wines are produced.
These wines are made with a specific Sangiovese clone. In the morning
we went to Altesina where we had a delightful guide. She was soon
to head to New York and Melanie and I tried to find out more about
her but it seems she has a boyfriend. The tasting was with a lot
of food chose to work well with the wines and to suffice for lunch.
Lots of fun! We then stopped in Montalcino for coffee and then
went to Biondi-Santi for more Brunello. Some reports are that this
is where the Brunello style was developed. We ate at the villa
again with Mimi cooking. |
